I started teaching yoga in 1996 after being asked to teach for Jhon Tamayo at Atmananda Yoga NYC.
I went to my first Ashtanga Yoga class in 2001. Since then I have had the blessing to receive guidance from Annie Pace, David Keil, David Williams, David Swenson and Shelley Washington in my personal practice as well as my teaching practice. I practice with David Swenson as often as I can. In September, 2013 I completed 40 hour Ashtanga Training with David Swenson and I will be taking his 50 hour next level training later this year.
I graduated from Texas Christian University with the BFA in Dance and was a professional concert dancer for 15-years. During the 10 years I lived in NYC I studied Professional Level Ballet with Christine Wright at 890 Broadway,NYC and Modern Technique with Angie Wolfe and Ron Brown at Peridance, NYC.
My classes are Ashtanga based, and are good for beginners as well as seasoned practitioners. I teach private clients and special yoga classes for Stress Management, Parkinson’s Disease, and Post Traumatic Stress.
I teach yoga with the intention of empowering students to practice yoga not only as an exercise, but as a practice ground for life.
